Welcome to our Insurer Import Guide
Please read this guide and watch the tutorials BEFORE you start to import insurer data into Adviser CRM. We may import your data for you, or with you while we are training you, but you must still understand our guide and accept the terms of using our import tool.
IMPORTS ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITY AND ANY IMPORTS CANNOT BE UNDONE
Backup your data first
We highly recommend you back up your data first
Download your data from the Insurers' portal
You will need to download your client policy data from the insurers portal. If you do not know how to download the data, please contact your Insurer BDM to get access to your client data to download. You need to download your client data directly from the insurer portal and we do not advise getting your BDM to send you the data because they may send you a different version than we used to build our import tool.
- You MUST make sure your download data with our template files to make sure they have the same column names otherwise your import will not work or could work incorrectly and you will not get the results you want.
- You can download sample files (except Partners Life) from each Insurer Guide at the bottom of the page of each separate Insurer Guide.
Errors and Duplicates
After you import the insurer data, you may get errors or duplicate records which are caused by the following.
The data between what the insurer has is different than what you have.
- For example, we use address information to determine whether you already have the Contact in Adviser CRM so if you have an address for one Contact and the Insurer has a different address, our import tool will create another Contact at the address that the Insurer has.
- You may have added a Life Benefit with a different name and the Insurer uses, so our tool will add another benefit, assuming that since the benefit names do not match, that the one you are importing is a new Life Benefit, not an existing Life Benefit
- You may get the occasional error when there may be a strange character in a Contact name that has quote marks, or hyphens that can cause issues. If there are errors like this, they will be in your log file, which you can email to our support team at support@advisercrm.co.nz
We cannot and are not responsible for any discrepancies of data between your Insurer and what you may already have in Adviser CRM. We will however, fix any errors that you may get.
